1948    Burn Stewart established.

1988    Burn Stewart bought over by the management team led by Bill Thornton. Burn Stewart Distillers established.

1991    Burn Stewart Distillers is listed on the Stock Exchange. They also take over Deanston Distillery.

1993    Burn Stewart Distillers take over and re-establish Tobermory Distillery.

2002    Burn Stewart Distillers acquired by CL Worldbrands. 2003 Burn Stewart Distillers take over Bunnahabhain Distillery.

2006    Fraser Thornton is appointed Managing Director of the company.

2009    Burn Stewart Distillers continues to thrive in a difficult financial climate and announce positive financial results for 2008.
